Canada D’eh Celebration and Carshow 2018<\/h3>

\u201cBack To The Track With Dennis Gage From My Classic Car TV Show\u201d<\/p>

It was an honour to have Dennis Gage come to our Canada d\u2019Eh event to film an episode for hie My Classic Car TV show. Our work has been featured on the show several times so it was nice to have our event on his show as well.<\/p>

The story behind the reason that our annual Canada d\u2019Eh Celebration and Carshow is always free to the public, starts in the early nineteen hundreds when Kurt & Ewald\u2019s (owners of Jellybean AutoCrafters) parents became Refugees due to the Communist Revolution in Prussia. It was a terrible time when some of our family lost their lives, were raped, beaten, become slaves and all sorts of terrible things at the hands of the military & the rebels that had free reign in many parts.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Through a long story, our parents were shipped overseas to Paraguay and homesteaded in the jungle along with other families. There wasn\u2019t any assistance what-so-ever, they didn\u2019t even know where they were or the climate to do the farming so there were numerous crop failures, diseases and famines so many passed away but as fortune had it, through another long story, our family immigrated to Canada in 1967.<\/p>

Here we\u2019ve enjoyed \u201cThe promised Land\u201d type living. The older siblings all got jobs so when their first paycheck came, our Mom blessed it by giving thanks and saying, \u201cThis is the first time in my life, that I know we have more than a few days of food\u201d.<\/p>

Canada has been so great to us. Yes, we can complain, but why? We have never been short of anything. Life has been better than it\u2019s ever been and better than we\u2019d expected so every year, we host a free Canada d\u2019Eh Celebration and Carshow to give thanks to this great country where we are now free and full of good times.<\/p>

We are honoured to call ourselves Canadians, so we thank everyone who comes to our event and celebrates Canada along with some pretty cool cars.<\/p>

1938 BMW 327\/28 Cabriolet Unveiling<\/h3>

This European pre-war sports car was one of the most desirable sports cars in its day. The 1938 BMW 327\/28 convertible’s classic lines are still as appealing today as they were when it first came to the market and with only about 800 built over a 4 year period, it is a real privilege for us to be a part of. The car is being restored to the original specifications with the exception of a few minor changes to increase drivability, as one of the intended uses is to run some Road Rallies and tours.

After disassembly, the body was acid dipped in preparation for the metal recreation. There are no body panels available for this classic so every part needed to be hand crafted. With a couple of old school panel beaters on staff the lower 2 – 3 inches of the body have already been fabricated along with a myriad of other areas.

Once the re-creation of the body was complete it went back for a second acid bath & then a phosphate dip which not only coated the visible areas but also the inside of the frame & all the hidden areas of the body which cannot be accessed otherwise. After the phosphate it got it’s epoxy coating.

A new hood and firewall was fabricated, inner fender liners were built and front signal lights were added along with other fabrication work.

Due to a lack of aftermarket support for this type of vehicle our machining and our engineering departments got a lot of use, especially the mill & lathe. A new front window winder knob, all bushings for the suspension, hinges & pedals, a ball joint, brake adjusters, even lock barrels needed to be created. The door handles were destroyed internally so custom springs needed to be made in order for the handles to make them work, the tail light lenses were beyond repair and so forth. When we say we built everything for this car, we mean everything.

\u00a0This Corvette LT1 powered “Hotrod” has been featured in numerous magazines,\u00a0made appearances in the news papers\u00a0and won many awards throughout BC and\u00a0the Pacific Northwest\u00a0for its workmanship & design. Its\u00a0latest accomplishment is an appearance on My Classic\u00a0Car TV\u00a0Show with Dennis Gage on Speed and a feature in Retro Rides Magazine which is based in\u00a0the UK and is distributed world wide.<\/p>

As if its beauty & performance are not enough, it has also received numerous awards for its Multi Media system and stereo. This lady owned, 2007 Solstice was ordered directly from the factory & delivered to a local dealership where it was picked up & brought to our shop for upgrades. First off the guys from Westside Custom Audio installed an In-dash Double-Din Touch Screen Monitor, a GPS onboard navigation system & Sirius Satellite Radio. It was all interfaced with the factory steering wheel controls & audio system so the ergonomics of the design would be retained. We added a side skirt kit with ground effect lighting, a rear spoiler, a custom built front nosecone with hand made chromed grill & vent inserts including hidden signal lights. The front was also was enhanced with a functional fiberglass dual scoop hood. “Lambo” doors were also installed creating an up-to-date look. Factory paint jobs don’t have alot of life in them so we enhanced the paint by wet sanding the entire car & shooting a few coats of Dupont clear on it. This gorgeous Solstice now has a show ready paint job with major depth & unreal pop in it. Upon displaying it at it’s first major car show it took 3rd place in the Conservative Sports Domestic class which is a tough class to compete in. This eye catching Solstice will be enjoyed by the customer for many years to come.<\/p><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
