1959 Mercedes 190SL “Extreme Makeover”

This Corvette LT1 powered “Hotrod” has seen its share of awards at shows such as the Grand National Roadster Show, Sacramento Autorama, Seattle Roadster Show, BC Custom and Classic Car Show and others, for its workmanship & design.

One of its greatest accomplishments was to be featured on My Classic Car TV Show with Dennis Gage and in Retro Rides Magazine, which is based in the UK and is distributed worldwide.
As if its beauty & performance are not enough, it has also received numerous awards for its Multi Media system and stereo. It was honoured as the BC Champion for multi-media systems at the Driven To Perform Show at BC Place.
The eye catching body style with its show winning paint along with its stance & wheels, capture the attention of all. It drives and handles like a dream with plenty of power to spare, the heat/AC system has side to side controls for comfort & the stereo has crystal clear sound so whether the owner is taking his wife on a romantic date, has it parked at a show or is blasting around a track, this beauty is hard to beat.

This 1959 Mercedes Benz 190SL convertible came in running but in rough condition, so it was brought to Jellybean AutoCrafters for an extreme makeover.

This is our interpretation of “Extreme Makeover” on a classic Mercedes.

The Custom mixed paint consists of only tiny metallic flakes with no paint pigment making

it a unique colour that is almost impossible to apply, it really shows off the arrow straight body and its tight, clean panel gaps.

With 300HP, modern suspension and weighing in at only 2770lbs with a driver, this little sports car performs well beyond expectations. It really is a showstopper, that’ll suck your ears off in cornering, acceleration and braking.

Not everyone appreciates a modified classic Mercedes but to those we reply,

Anyone can rebuild one, it takes a real man to cut one up
